Tomato Clownfish (Red Clownfish)
The Tomato clown fish are a little different because it only has one white stripe. There bodies are a red to reddish black in color. In the wild they can grow up to 5-5.5 inches but a tank raised tomato will usually grow to around 3-4 inches. If you can make sure you get a tank raised clownfish that way it is less likely to have any disease that could make you tank sick.
As with all the clownfish mixing them or having more than one or two is not a good idea. They are semi-aggressive fish, which means they will defend there spot in the tank against almost all odds. Even if you introduce them at the same time they have been know to fight other clownfish. Like all clownfish they do live in anemones in the wild. But when they are in a home tank they don’t need one. If you are able to keep an anemone alive and thriving in a home tank the Tomato clownfish will love to call it home.
The tomato is an omnivore, this means that they like both animal and plants in there diets. For them to keep up there color you need to feed a various diet. They will eat live, frozen and even flake foods. Make sure you feed them a varied diet so they stay healthy and their bright color stay bright.
