I hope this site will help with some of the question you may have on clown fish and their care. The information on this fish that is known by different names. Such as the Anemone Clownfish, Percula, Ocellaris and the Maroon Clown fishes. Those are some of the more pouplar ones. There are also the Clarkii also known as a Sebae, and the Tomato clown fish.

I hope to help you with the big decision on which one would be the best one for you and facts on how to care for clownfish. All the clown fish are in the damsel family and as such are a little to alot territorial. This will tell you about what they eat, there personality, and what kind of tank needs they will need. Not every one will be able to care for the anemone that they live in in the wild, so it is good to know they dont need one to live in the home tank. This is something to look into and due a lot of thinking about since they usually don’t thrive in home tanks.

Another thing you will need to take into consideration is the tank mates. Not all fish will be good for all the different clownfish. Some are really territorial and the peaceful fish will be stressed and will die. Most of them will be fine but you need to keep this in mind while picking one out. Also be sure the fish that you pick will not grow so big that they will eat your clownfish. Just because they are small when you get them does not mean they will stay that way. The largest in the clown fish family is the Maroon’s and they can get up 6 inches. The Clarkii’s are some of the smaller of the group. So they are one of the one you have to worry about getting eattin.

Make sure you have plenty of rocks for them to hide and play in. Since they do like to be out and about all over the tank. This will also make them feel safe since you may or may not have an anemone. That is another big choose you need to think about.

I hope after reading this you will be better informed about the health care of clownfish, there habbits and the breeding of clownfish. It is a scary to think these little guys and girls depend solely on you. But with a lot of reading and a few friends of the saltwater tanks you can make the right and best choice for you and your family.
